Parent Council

Welcome

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Parent Council section of the St. Margaret’s High School website.  The parent council aims to promote a positive partnership between the school, its pupils and every parent and carer.
The Parent Council has a clear objective which is to work together to achieve success for the pupils and to try and give the pupils the best opportunities to succeed in whatever field they choose.

A simple Mission Statement for the Parent Council is:-

“To work closely with the Headteacher, teaching and other staff, to ensure that the voice of parents and carers is heard and is used positively to influence the vital partnership between the home and school resulting in success for our pupils”

We can do this by
  • Developing and engaging in activities which support the education and welfare of our pupils
  • Positively promoting the  involvement of parents and carers in their child’s learning experience
  • Working with the school to assist in ensuring attainment levels are improved and our pupils prospects are enhanced
  • Encouraging and enabling parents to bring forward ideas that will enhance the educational journey of the pupils and also benefit the school
  • Ensuring that the views of parents and carers on the education provided by the school are positively representedTo do this we need to hear from you and we need you to be involved, please come along to the meetings or contact the school to arrange visiting.

This is your parent council – please use it.
